And No, It's Not Because She's Being Appointed to the High Court

Because I know if I don't say anything, I'll get a flurry of e-mails asking me why (much in the same way that I got a flurry of e-mails asking me if I'd heard). Yes, I heard. I got the e-mail from Interior six times.

Gale A. Norton, Secretary of the Interior, has resigned, effective at the end of this month...

"After five years of leading cooperative conservation efforts and responsible energy development, Interior Secretary Gale A. Norton today announced she will leave the President’s Cabinet at the end of March. In a letter to President Bush, Secretary Norton thanked the President, “for inviting me to be part of your Administration for a meaningful and rewarding five years.”

Norton was the first woman to head the Interior Department, having had a distinguished career serving the public, both in official office and doing public interest law. She succeeded my former boss, Roger Marzulla, as the head of Mountain States Legal Foundation, and in 1991 became Attorney General of Colorado. She was CO AG until 1998, when she made an unsuccessful bid for the US Senate.

There was some talk that Norton might run for governor of Colorado, but that never came to pass (and I assume, it being March already, that it's too late). And yes, the rumor circulated, started right here, that Norton ought to be considered for the high court.

Who knows what could happen should another vacancy come open this spring?

Anyway, Madam Secretary, it has been a pleasure to work with you. The best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

Possible successors?

- Former Sen. Dirk Kempthorne
- Lynn Scarlett, currently Deputy Secretary
- James Connaughton, Chairman of the Council on Environmental Quality
- Judge Craig Manson, head of Fish and Wildlife

I'm open to other suggestions.

Interior Secretary Gale Norton's retirement is bound to fuel more speculation about Gov. Dirk Kempthorne's post-Statehouse future.

Kempthorne was on a shortlist to head the Environmental Protection Agency in 2003 and has been mentioned around as a potential cabinet member for President Bush.

Idaho Sen. Larry Craig, too, has been mentioned for the departments of Interior and Agriculture.

Idaho's last major appointee was former Gov. Cecil Andrus, who ran Interior for President Carter.

Here's some fuel for the fire: Kempthorne spent two nights at the White House at the end of February with a few other governors while in Washington, D.C., for the National Governors Association meeting.

Kempthorne wasn't commenting about the vacancy on Friday.

If Kempthorne left the state, he would be replaced by Lt. Gov. Jim Risch, who announced his intention to run again for his position a few months ago and has already filed with the Secretary of State. Friday evening, he said his plans haven't changed — and weren't likely to by Friday's deadline to get on the ballot for governor

Once again, in spite of the fact that she has stated repeatedly that if left alone she would leave others alone, Ms. Rosenthal has come here in an attempt to instigate renewed conflict. This should not be surprising, considering that since she returned to Usenet in early February 2006, she began spewing her venom regarding me.

Up to now, I've decided that it would be better to just let sleeping dogs lie - or, in this case, a yelping dog. Ilena Rosenthal is incapable of reason (as has been the experience of just about anyone who has ever had the unpleasure of interacting with her), and no amount of good has ever come of it.

So, I'm left with this. I figure I've got two options: I once again just ignore the ravings of this unhinged harpy, or I let loose with a post which would show her why it's just not a good idea to come and stir this hornet's nest.

I'm inclined to do the former. The latter wouldn't be too hard (it[it's just a matter of laying out that which I've come to know over the last few years - like the financial filings of her nonprofit that show that excess funds from one year wouldn't show up on the next, or the fact that her organization still has no physical address in the United States, or the fact that her organization was delisted as a resource by the federal government when they were unable to verify that the organization provided anything in the way of services, or the fact that when she claimed she was participating in local events to educate women as to the mission of her organization, she was, in fact, hawking popcorn.

No, I'm inclined to simply ignore her. She isn't worth the energy.

What do you all think?

Just because you're not attacking me publicly, doesn't mean you're not launching underground attacks such as you did with the SBIPrivateClub Andy.

As far as my comments regarding your cheerleading and using all the "talking points" to sell this disaster of a War ... you must be so proud.

You were crowing that the Americans would be greeted like they were after Nazi Germany fell ... instead, Americans are more hated in the world everyday and the destruction of Iraq must make you so proud.

You have parroted every lie by the government to sell this war for your backers ....

You were wrong about the War ...

You have been wrong about me ...

And just because you aren't attacking me directly ... doesn't mean you're not doing your usual filth underground as other Moles do.

BTW ... I would post here more but so few read it it's not worth my time.

You must be so proud that you are backed here by Mark Probert ... disbarred by the Supreme Court of NY and one of your fellow Rag-tag Posse Members. Birds of a feather ....

Andy ... once again you are making false statements about me and the Humantics Foundation.

And for all your years of posting false information, spending days and days of salaried time pouring over the financial reports of our tiny non profit while billions and then posting your biased, irrational conclusions as facts, you've not gotten rid of me as you've tried.

O ... exactly what the silicone industry uses "sound science" flacks like you to do ... distort the facts and create distraction for their lies and cover ups for several decades ... and harass activists and scientists working to figure out the complex problems.

The War you cheerlead for is a diasater on God's Green Earth ... and your parroting the governments lies to sell it makes you complicit in the human tragedy you are so proud of.

You were wrong about the War ... and you are dead wrong about me.

Ms. Rosenthal, you overestimate your importance to me. Perhaps this is a bit of projecting on your part, I don't know. I have "launched" nothing against you, your paranoid fantasies notwithstanding.

Furthermore, I have never lied about you. Everything I have ever said regarding you I can substantiate - in point of fact, it is you who have lied repeatedly regarding me, and I have demonstrated that you have lied about me, time and time again.

You have claimed that I have lied regarding you, yet when pressed, you have never been able to provide any facts to back-up your claim. If I have lied, it is now up to you to prove it.

Finally, your own behavior has demonstrated that I am not wrong about you. Every time you come here to instigate proves that I am not wrong about you. Every time you lie about me on Usenet and try to drag me into fights on Usenet proves that I am not wrong about you. Your "organization's" website proves that I am not wrong about you.

The facts are on my side, as they always have been.

Andy ... the facts are NOT on your side ... only your unmitigated arrogance is.

You take bows when you fail miserably ... and claim victory.

Your teammates are disbarred attorneys and usenet terrorists.

The Invasion of Iraq is a miserable horrific failure ... yet you are still taking bows for that too.

You lie about pennies in my foundation, and crow about billions and billions of misspent money on your war you advertised for.

Your lies about the Humantics Foundation ... tho you repeat them with vigor ... are still lies.

Your lies about the War ... tho you repeat them with vigor ...are still lies.

Your 'organizing' silicone manufacturers and 'support leaders' to harass and investigate me, has not been forgotten.

You can lie here to your few readers about my 'importance' to you ... your memory is as short as your morality.

You spent years investigating and placing your salaried lobbyist 'sound science' self in the middle of the breast implant cause ... years of organizizing ridiculous stunts against me ... now you claim indifference.

You fool only the other shills, fools and disbarred attorneys you work with.

YOU Andy boy, pushed yourself into my life ... not vice versa. YOU, Andy boy, are teamed with the losing plaintiffs in the high profile SLAPP suit against me.

When Barrett and Grell and Polevoy first lost to me ... YOU began threatening to sue me too!
